Mae west (august 17, 1893 â? Died, november 22, 1980) was an american actress, playwright, screenwriter, and sex symbol. Famous for her bawdy double entendres, west made a name for herself in vaudeville and on the stage in new york before moving to hollywood to become a comedian, actress and writer in the motion picture industry. One fo the most controversial stars of her day, west encountered many problems including censorship. When her cinematic career ended, she continued to perform on stage, in las vegas, in the united kingdom, no radio and television, and recorded rock and roll albums. Obtained as part of a collection of autographed 3x5 index/linen cards purchased this week directly from the son of the original collector who had written to various celebrities in 1932-1934 requestign thier autographs and recieved the autograph through the mail in compliance with the request.
The cards are all dated on the reverse with the month and year the autograph was recieved. Will be offering more items from this exciting collection on e-bay ni the coming weeks.
